We are seeking experienced freelance interpreters in the Philadelphia area to support assignments between English and French, with experience interpreting French as spoken in West Africa.

What you’ll do

• Provide accurate, complete, and impartial interpretation between French- and English-speaking individuals.

• Follow professional standards for confidentiality, ethics, and cultural sensitivity.

• Arrive on time, prepared, and professionally dressed for scheduled assignments.

• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and comply with all client-site requirements.

Qualifications

• Professional fluency in French and English.

• Prior professional interpreting experience required.

• Familiarity with French as spoken in West Africa, including regional vocabulary, accents, and cultural nuances.

• Reliable transportation and availability for assignments throughout the Philadelphia area.

Preferred qualifications

• Completion of a professional interpreter training program.

• Relevant interpreting certifications.

• Experience interpreting for individuals from French-speaking West African communities.

• Experience providing in-person interpretation across a variety of professional or community settings.

Engagement details

This is a freelance/independent contractor opportunity. Assignment volume, location, duration, and scheduling will vary based on client demand and interpreter availability.
