The interpreter will provide consecutive, in-person Spanish interpretation to support clear communication between the provider and the client/family. The assignment involves a sensitive behavioral health or counseling environment, so prior experience interpreting in mental health, therapy, crisis-response, settings is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, complete on-site Spanish interpretation.

• Maintain a neutral and professional interpreter role at all times.

• Preserve confidentiality and follow applicable interpreter ethics.

• Communicate clearly in emotionally sensitive or high-pressure situations.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and Spanish.

• Prior professional interpreting experience.

• Experience in behavioral health, therapy, crisis support, or other sensitive medical settings preferred.

• Ability to remain calm, respectful, and composed during emotionally complex conversations.

• Reliable local availability for an in-person assignment in Lexington, VA.
